Things to Do at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is the #1 “Must see” attraction on the Big Island of Hawaii.

There are very few places on Earth where you can experience an active volcano. We suggest that you allow at least one full day to enjoy the wonders of Kilauea. The Visitor Center inside the HVNP provides a great place to start your Volcano adventure. Here are some of the most fun things to do at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and Volcano Village.

Hiking Trails

There is no adventure like hiking around the Kilauea volcano.  Here are some of the best hiking trails in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and the most popular trails with our guests.  Please note that parking at many of the trailheads is extremely limited.  Consider parking at the visitor's center and walking to the trails.  Be sure to come prepared with water, food, a hat, sunscreen, rain gear, and sturdy footwear.  The lava can be very sharp so make sure you are protected.
